Even if Mikry Vigla is well know from the windsurfer since many years, it was discovered by the kiteboarder only in the recent time. The surprise when you arrive is big! How a beautiful beach like this can have such a strong constant side shore wind, that's the first thing you ask yourself. It's because the wind is accelerated by a Venturi effect in the channel that divide Naxos from Paros: That's also why normally here there is wind when nowhere else is windy. The Flisvos Kitecenter Is located in the new structure of the Orkos beach hotel and from there you can watch the entire bay of Mikry Vigla. The kitecenter is an IKO (International Kiteboarding Organization) affiliated so here you can learn kitesurfing according to the most safe standards in teaching all the kite are new from Bestkiteboarding, Cabrinha and RRD. After the lessons you can relax in the nice beach bar drinking a glass and tasting the italian kitchen of the restaurant. Then after a shower ready for the night with the famous barbeque of the Flisvos Kitecenter and the music of dj Matteo. HomePage Gallery Below you can see some pics taken in Flisvos Kitecenter |

Paros Kite Pro Center was founded in 2002 by George Prounjos and Petros Kaparos. Both Kiteboarders at that time, realized that Pounda Beach is the perfect spot, not just for advanced Kiteboarders, but also for beginners to learn the fast rising extreme sport of Kiteboarding. George became IKO Instructor and Paros Kite Pro Center started off for the first season as IKO affiliated center. Later also Kay-Constantin Livas joined the team. The big request of kiteboarding lessons made Paros Kite Pro Center to grow continously. Over the next two years, several pro riders passed by Paros Kite Pro Center like Marc Doyle, Dimirti Maramenidis, etc. By the end of 2003, Pounda Beach and Paros Kite Pro Center had become one of the best kiteboarding spots in Europe. This lead to the decision to organize the PKRA World Cup in Paros . In July 2005 PKRA World Tour stopped in Paros and brought more than 60 of the top kiteboarders from over 28 countries to challenge for the title.
Riders like Aaron Hadlow, Leshai Miller and Damien Leroy stayed almost one month longer at Paros Kite Pro Center to built and hit the biggest slider ever. The slider was 27 meters long and 5 meters high and was consisted of two parts with a gap in the middle, and a kicker at the top end.
In July 2006 Paros Kite Pro Center became again host of a world tour stop. The 2006 KPWT Paros Kiteboarding World Cup. More than 45 riders, male and female from all over the world came to Paros to battle for the titles in the discipines freestyle, hang time, best trick and long distance race.
